I just love the La Tapatia Mexican Restaurant on North Chester in the Oildale area; they make great chili verde. Their service and atmosphere is very good and pleasant. I would highly recommend it to everyone. The only downfall of the restaurant is that it is a small restaurant.

So, lots of us know that once we leve Bakersfield we often think back to the great meals we have had in this town. So, I know there is not a shortage of good places to eat here. Some of my favorite places to dine are Luigi's, Jakes Tex Mex and Urrichios... What are yours?

How about the best B B Q? Famous Dave's was good but I know it gets better, where do you go for the best in BBQ?

Fast Food Burgers

Just wondering if somebody knows something I don't:

I have a teen and got snagged into eating hamburger two different times at two different big-name fast food burger joints. (My teen told me it's politically incorrect to use the term "over-priced grease pit.")

In each case, the patty didn't quite taste like a hamburger. Just wondering if burger joints use patties with filler or ingredients. Are those 100% meat patties (and grease) on the grill?

While this is an obvious one (just check out the line every morning), I thought it still needed a mention.
Consistantly the best breakfast in town! I've been eating there on a pretty regular basis (once a week or so) for 4-5 years now, and the quality and quantaty has remained exactly the same... which is a lot of food that tastes great.

Los Tacos de Huichas on 123 E 18th St. are the BEST tacos I have ever had!!!

You get to dress up your tacos with all the salsa, onions, cialantro that you like. It gets really busy around lunch and it is diverse crowd... blue collar to white collar to no collar. The food is damn good, no matter what you get and it's very affordable.

Feeling like tacos, then go here. And bring me some.

On Union Ave, is by far the best Mexican Food in town. If you are looking for some good service, great margiritas, and excellent service I would recomend them in a heartbeat. My wife and I go there so much that they know us and our order before we even sit down.

The best Chile Verde I've ever had comes from this place..

I am so excited that this restaurant is coming here. If you have never had this, you do not know what you are missing. This would defnitely be on my top ten list of all-time favorite restaurants.

It is a unique combination of great chinese food and a hip atmosphere. Try the chicken lettuce wraps.... they are a must.

Little Italy

Little Italy has got to be one of my favorite food places in town. It is small and quaint (However they are currently remodeling) but the food is amazing.

If you love Italian food, then you will love this place.

It's in the Trader Joes shopping center... If you have not been there yet.... give it try. You will be pleasantly surprised.
