CSUB Alumni Association and the Bakersfield Wine Society present the 12th Annual Party in the Park.

Each year wineries from throughout California and 800 attendees raise their glasses in support of CSUB student scholarships. last year's Party in the Park attendees raised over $9,000 for the Alumni Scholarship Fund. The fund provides academic scholarships for deserving students who might otherwise have difficulty affording a university education.

"We are pleased to be coming back to CSUB again this year," said Tom Hogan, sales manager of Opolo Vineyards. "Party in the Park is agerat venue for us and we're proud to be part of such a worthy cause. Not only does the event help students with scholarships, but also helps people learn about the joys of wine. What cold be better?"

While sampling the wines and enjoying hors d'oeuvres, which willinclude sausages donated by Green Frog Market and other delectable indulgences, attendees can bid on items in a silent auction. Favorite items in previous years have included artwork, garden art, jewelry, sports memorbilia, wine, and CSUB items.

"I always enjoy seeing so many of our alumni and their friends ahving a good time at the event while giving back to the university," CSUB Alumnio Association Director Shannon Hill." "The Alumni Association board works hard to make this signature event successful. Party in the Park has become a Bakersfield tradition. The event will sell out again this year so get your tickets early!"

Party n the Park precedes the annual Bakersfield Jazz Festival.
