The Kern County Sheriff's Activities League is a non-profit group formed to offer activities for Kern County youth. Activities include academic tutoring, sports, crafts, games, computer training, leadership training, field trips and much more. SAL is a private organization and not funded by the County of Kern.
SAL is a volunteer-driven program. We rely on members of law enforcement and the community to volunteer their time to mentor and work with the kids who participate in SAL programs. Without volunteer help, the SAL program would have to limit the number of kids who participate. It is our goal not to tunr any child away.
The Kern County Sherriff's Activities League Mission is dedicated to developing local youth into responsible, productive and ethical citizens and reducing jevenile victimization, crime, and delinquency.
