Ambushing a person in restaurant and hounding him with a camera while the guy is with his wife and kid sounds like harrassment to me, not just Mr. Crisp but the wife and certainly the child don't deserve the intrusion.

Is "no comment" enough for a reporter, or is chasing him in the parking lot part of the job.

And catpaw, your question brings up an important issue: what constitutes a journalist? Are bloggers like yourself journalists? I've read some of the things posted on local real estate blogs and some of the posts are clearly invstigative and journalistic in nature. Others rise little above personal attacks and snipes. I think that issue is going to be more important as the media consolidates and journalists work on the web, tv, and to some degree, print.

Big difference between bloggers relating what they know (or think they know) or venting and radio deejay assuming the role of reporter. I get the impression Mr. Mayer did not observe the ethics you posted. The confrontation could have become a volitile situation. He should be reprimanded.

In any case, Mr. Mayer did not report any news except his own thoughtless public antics.

am no fan of what David Crisp has done, but if you want to keep the community well informed quit using him as the end all. He was flashy and for a short time made it big, there are by far several others in this town with dirty hands; they are just better at hiding the filth they have others do for them. Bruce Freeman of Castle & Cooke is as manipulating and deceitful as they come. His demeanor and ego is what carries him past these young guys. I worked with Bruce for many years and he and his front team need a little investigating.

Kioshi if you are that good why stop there, I know that KGET doesn't push the limits with certain businesses in town out of fear of losing advertising money. But Mr. anchor of the year, step up, do your job and serve the community equally. Chase down Bruce Freeman of Castle & Cooke, the jerk that lets anything go to save himself and pretends not to know anything? These two of Castle & Cooke are in deep it is just a matter of time before it all catches up with him.
