Vincent Brothers Trial

Raw Video of Margaret Brothers Interview

Here's the raw video from the interview with Margaret Brothers, Vincent's mother.  There are two edits: the first is after the bailiff asked us to move down the hall (you can see that on tape), and the second occurs after we thought the interview had ended and Ms. Brothers talked to us more about some of the allegations in this case. She says she's leaving town but wanted to give her son's side of the story before she leaves.  She's not sure if whe will return when a penalty phase verdict comes back.

I feel like I watched a distraught, anguished old lady venting her emotion. Did reporters approach her or did she request the interview? Surely she wasn't used as a sensational space-filler during the lull of jury deliberation. Sorry guys, I don't see the point of broadcasting Mrs. Brothers. Reminds me of Fox News.

Creepycat--
Interviews are always a sensitive subject, especially when they involve victims or people related to crimes.  In this case, as Ms. Brothers points out, she lost her grandkids.  That being said, Ms. Brothers agreed to do the interview because she wanted to tell her side of the story.  We've heard volumes about what the prosecutor thinks of Mr. Brothers (i.e. sociopath, liar).  But we have yet to hear from those who knew Brothers and have an oppositve side to tell.  Presenting only one side or opinion in this case doesn't make good journalism.  It's our responsibility to at least offer an interview.  In this case, Ms. Brothers agreed and encouraged us (as you see in the video) to make sure not to modify what she was saying.
